Tamicka is originally from the tropical island of Jamaica and has lived in Virginia for the past five years. She is passionate about creating a safe and supportive therapeutic environment where clients can find healing, increase self-awareness, and experience personal growth. She has experience conducting play therapy with children and providing outpatient services to individuals navigating cultural shock, depression, anxiety, grief, eating disorders, marital issues, parent coaching, low self-esteem, and trauma-related symptoms. As a person-centered counselor, Tamicka meets clients where they are to build trust and foster a nurturing, empathetic space for change. She believes that each client is the author of their own story. Tamicka is in the Resident in Counseling program here at Living Water Counseling Center, expanding her expertise in family dynamics, trauma care and play therapy. She is also open to incorporating faith-based interventions upon client request. In her free time, Tamicka enjoys watching action movies, exercising, cooking, enjoying aesthetic care and creative self-expression, spending time with friends, and visiting the beach.
